Racquet Bag Voyager

Purchased the bag back in December 2024, and I’ve been enjoying the bag ever since then. The mix of compartments as well as modular add-ons make this to be a very easy recommendation to anyone who asks me about this bag.

I’m reviewing this bag in August 2026 and was experiencing the zip track unraveling from parts of the bag, and I must say I’m also very impressed by Cancha’s handling of the warranty claim. It’s comforting to see that in 2026 there are still good companies out there that build products to last and are willing to stand by their products!

As a matter of fact, friends asked me multiple times where I got it and I think the love is spreading here in NJ!

I love small companies.

They can (and this is certainly true of Cancha) create products that fill a void for buyers (like me) who are tired of seeing and using the same old products.

It’s hard to believe there’s so little variety when it comes to tennis racket bags. There are the moving billboards offered by the big tennis companies. You know, the kinds your favorite pro drags on and off the court to make sure you know he or she is being well-paid by Wilson, Head, Babolat, Yonex or whomever. I wouldn’t say these bags don’t have their place. My coach uses one but in addition to carrying a whole gaggle of rackets every day he pretty much has to live out of it at times.

If you’ve seen one of these big bags you have pretty much seen them all. And, although many of my fellow club players are happy to bend their backs carrying them, many others prefer something lighter and more thoughtfully made. I think that way and obviously so does Cancha’s head honcho, Jack Oswald. You can read more of Oswald’s story at the Cancha website so I’m not going to rehash his story here.

Finally, I want to let you know that Cancha is giving the ax to the model I am reviewing here. I think that’s a shame since the bag they’re replacing it with with is significantly larger and more expensive. Oh well. I guess all we can do is wait and see what Cancha’s product offerings look like in the near future.

Look, a tennis bag is not a complicated thing. But, even a simple thing can be done well or poorly. As they say, the (tennis) gods are in the details.

I absolutely love the form factor of the Cancha Original Racquet Bag (15L). Absent the use of racquet for racket, I think the original Cancha fits the average player’s game and needs perfectly. It comfortably holds two rackets and three in a pinch. Double shoulder straps are an absolute must and they were one of the reasons for the Cancha being on my short list of bags.

Overall construction looks dandy. The materials appear to be resistant to water (not that it matters much here in SoCal) and the zippers are smooth and rugged feeling. The single zippered pocket on the outside is too shallow to be as useful as it could be. The pocket barely has enough room for my wallet, keys and phone. Forget about my sunglasses. Remember Cancha: phones are getting bigger all the time.

A unique and promising feature of all Cancha tennis bags are the RF Bonded Hypalon Molle Patches. These allow for quick attachment of various Cancha accessories like their Dry Bag. Cancha creates their bags to be truly modular and that flexibility appeals to me. For day to day use I don’t need (or want) a shoe bag piggy-backed on my tennis bag but when I hit the road with my rackets I will definitely want that option.

Even with the single velcro Cancha patch in place the bag is pretty stealthy and I appreciate that. Only my friends at Courierware go further in their effort to avoid obvious promotion of their brand by placing their name and phone number on…

I used the Pro Organizer with the Racket Bag Voyager but have a few complaints:

1. There is only one Velcro strap for attachment, so I cannot choose the orientation.
I believe that the zipper with the red pull loop is meant for quick access, which is why the Pro Organizer's attachment direction is restricted. However, the quick access zipper is actually very small, making it difficult to reach in and grab items. Additionally, I personally prefer using it in the opposite direction, so I would have liked to have the option to choose.

2. The top part is not secured, so it falls over inside the bag. When I load the top pocket and attach the Pro Organizer to the Racket Bag Voyager, the weight of the items causes the top part to fall over. This is inevitable because the Pro Organizer is only secured at the middle with Velcro. However, it becomes frustrating when trying to access other items in the bag while the Pro Organizer is attached.

As a solution, I decided to use it strictly as an organizer. From that perspective, it is very convenient for organizing items when taken out and hooked up (in that case, it would be ideal if the zipper of the bottom pocket was also at the top). To conveniently use the Racket Bag Voyager with the Pro Organizer attached, I thought that improvements to the Racket Bag Voyager itself would be necessary (such as loops for securing the top part, extended Velcro straps, and a zipper that allows the Racket Bag Voyager to open 180 degrees).

I got the X large day bag too which clips on smartly and is ideal for a change of clothes.

We recently purchased Cancha bags for our new tennis and pickleball pro shops. Cancha is an outstanding product with durability, flexibility, design and functionality. We will continue to carry Cancha as our bag of choice.

This thing is made to last and is built like a tank. I like the quality materials and multi-functionality of the bag. I bought it as an attachment for my tennis bag to put my towel, water bottle and shoes in, but it can also be used as a stand alone bag. It is very easy to attach and detach. It’s waterproof and durable and includes a bag that can attach inside for dirty clothes. I plan to use it for tennis, hiking/camping and travel. Highly recommend.

The Day Bag XL is a great standalone bag for the seasoned airline traveler, even if that wasn't the original intention (Cancha specializes in raquet bags). The water-resistant nature, subdued and utilitarian appearance, pocketing and segmentation is perfect - especially for (in my case) military folks who tend to use common inserts they move from bag to bag. Some features I truly appreciated:

- The material is light and easy to clean. The bag doesn't add much weight; if you carry a lot, you won't be adding much to it. Easily wiped off with a germ-wipe or soap & water after sitting underneath an airplane seat - priceless. The slightly stiffened sidewall of the bag is also very much appreciated - not just for the appearance, but for function.
- No handle on top, but a loop. The loop on top is great for a carabiner, or in my case a "Heroclip" that allows me to hang it off the handle of my suitcase for ease as I walk around the airport... or the magazine rack on the airline seat which keeps most of the surface off the floor.
- Laptop sleeve is great - just enough segmenting. Keeps it from flopping around with my other stuff.
- Spacious outer pouch. The inside volume somehow doesn't diminish the remaining space of the outer pouch on the front. Genius design!
- Shoulder straps are awesome. So many companies get this wrong. Not only did you get fitment right for someone who has a larger chest than waist (cutting them to flare out), you made them **completely removable** to change the carry options. Thank you thank you thank you for that. You can carry as a backpack, as a sling bag, or switch to briefcase mode with the handle on the side.
- Stands up when sitting, better than any well-trained puppy. The bottom is so thin that it should fall over but inexplicably does not. Another genius design point!

No one asked me, but what I'd add (it's great as-is; there's definitely nothing to subtract):
- Another loop on top to balance the one already there;
- Velcro (or other) closure for top pockets on the inside flap; when top-loading they work great, but any other time when you open it clamshell style, things fly out - almost makes the pouches unusable. Maybe a zipper like you have for the lower one that runs the length of the lid.
- a few of those laser-cut attachment points perhaps on the front of the bag, for the smaller Day Bag or other such add; that might not work with the thinnness of the current lid/closure flap, but something to consider if you come out with an even more (purposely intended - this works really well as-is by the way) standalone Day Bag XL. Stiffen the lid a bit, add attachments and call it the Day Bag XL Hiking. I've seen your hiking offering and it was just a bit too big for me.

If you look at the pictures, I engineered a few of my own upgrades that you could offer as options. The sternum strap now has a Fidlock buckle (I like the ease of magnets); I added some velcro for identification markers (might be a military thing but they come in handy): I wrapped up loose straps to avoid hanging or catching on things, something you can do with small elastic bands or some other commercial solution; replaced zipper pulls with shock-cord, makes them easier to grab if your hands are wet/have something on them, it's cold or anything else that reduces manual dexterity.

Great bag. I can't help but add my own comments about improvements, but if you are looking for about 15L of carry-on capacity for your personal gear, and can build your own insert/means for segmenting and packing contents, get this bag. This is my 11th attempt to find a great solution and think I'm now settled.
