I've read other reviews about the lack of attachment points for the Pro Organizer but have found this to be a bonus. Bc the organizer can sort of float semi freely, i use it as an oversized divider for my two rackets (one in front and one in back).
The Cancha Voyager is incredibly close to being the ultimate minimalist racket bag. The weatherproofing is top-tier, the modular design makes it amazingly versatile for commuting or travel, and the sleek aesthetic looks fantastic both on and off the court. It effortlessly handles everything you actually need without the unnecessary bulk of traditional, massive tennis bags.
However, there is one specific design choice that keeps it just shy of a flawless 5-star rating: the shoulder straps.
The Main Criticism: Strap Width & Geometry
While the wide straps and padding is great for distributing a heavy load, the shoulder straps are designed to be quite wide from top to bottom, maintaining a broad profile throughout their entire length rather than tapering down.
The Issue: Because the straps don’t narrow as they wrap down under the arms, they can cause noticeable friction.
Who it affects: If you have a slighter build or your shoulders aren't particularly broad, the inner edges of the straps may cause irritation over long durations of carrying the bag
The Result: During longer walks or when carrying the bag fully loaded, this constant wide profile can cause mild irritation and chafing on the sides of your body and torso.
The Verdict
If you have a broader frame, you likely won't notice this issue at all and will find it to be a perfect 5-star bag. But if you have narrower shoulders, the uniform strap width is something to keep in mind. It is still an exceptional piece of gear that gets almost everything else right, but a bit of taper on the lower half of the straps would make it unbeatable.
I also shave the Wet/Dry bag which is incredibly useful and well thought out. I've only stored clothing in there but has worked flawlessly thus far. If carrying heavier items like shoes or full water bottles on the outside of the bag, the weight distribution is more noticeable given that portion of the bag is attached to the main bag at four points vs a permanent fixture.
For the Organizer Pro, I am enjoying the modular organization. I've read other reviews on the lack of attachment points which I've actually found to be an advantage. It allows me to keep one racket in front and one in back of the organizer and use it as a oversized divider.
I thought I was buying a bag for tennis that would attach to my Voyager racket bag. I think Cancha needs to decide whether or not they're making an additional bag for a tennis bag or whether they're making a day pack because putting a laptop insert in something made for a tennis bag is just silly..
The bag is too small, I don't see the laptop sleeve, and I don't need, padded straps, etc.
What I did need and did not come with the bag were the special Cancha clips. The their credit they got a set to me right away after I contacted them. Bottom line to me the bag is too small, I want it taller and thicker.
The Pro Organizer is essential! What a thoughtfully designed accessory. A few features stood out to me that I don't think get enough praise:
- Expandable / gusseted: there's a zipper that goes around the entire perimeter of the organizer. Unzip this, and the organizer more than doubles in width
- Largest (lowest) compartment is gusseted and expands up (behind) the middle compartment. There is plenty of room for even the largest of shoes.
- Two separate openings for each compartment:
1) Large opening with a pair of (2-way) zippers (black pulls) to enable fully opening the compartment;
2) Small, side quick-access opening with 1 zipper (red pull)
The Pro Organizer easily fits in and be affixed via velcro to either compartment of the Racquet Bag Pro. The velcro is not super necessary and I can see myself using this organizer with other tennis bags.
I'm still experimenting to find the best way to use this, but my current configuration is:
- Top (smallest) compartment: sunglasses, sunscreen, sweatbands, knee supporter
- Middle (skinniest) compartment: change of clothes
- Bottom (largest) compartment: toiletries bag, huge water bottle
The Pro Organizer exceeds my expectations and scores a perfect 5-stars for its utility, thoughtful design to maximize the weird shape of a tennis bag, and its versatility to be useful with other bags. I highly recommend this product.
The Racqet Bag Pro is very well constructed out of well-chosen materials and hardware. Here's a list of the things I like:
- Fantastic choice of material - exceedingly lightweight and sleek yet durable
- Backpack straps are secure and don't fall off the bag
- Central handle is diagonal to distribute weight and support both compartments
- Zippers are impossibly smooth
- Zipper pulls (and all of the other hardware choices) are thoughtfully chosen, sleek and functional
- Minimal branding
- Water resistance
However, for the price, it lacks features (without adding accessories, adding to the price, weight, and bulkiness of the racquet bag system). This is what you get with the standalone Racquet Bag Pro:
- 2 large compartments; 1 small zippered side pocket (felt lined)
- One compartment has two side-mounted pockets with elastic closing, both roughly tennis ball can sized. One opens horizontally, the other opens vertically. Neither work especially well for me (too small for my large water bottles; ball can always falls out of the pocket) This compartment also has a large hidden compartment sealed off by false velcro wall
- The other large compartment has a full-length pocket/division, a removeable divider affixed by velcro (not quite tall enough to protect the the full width of a racquet), another divider unaffixed by velcro, and is the full size of a racquet. There is also one zipped mesh pocket.
- 2 handles, 1 pair of backpack straps
That's it. It's essentially two big compartments with minimal subdivision and 4 small pockets of dubious usefulness. I acknowledge that I am spoiled for organization coming from ADV's product offerings but I honestly find it extremely limiting (without accessories). As such, even though I like so many things about the bag, I find it a poor value proposition at $260 MSRP. Most bags at less than half the price come with at least a shoe / wet-dry compartment. As such, as much as I enjoy my Cancha setup, I cannot honestly rate this product [standalone, at this price] higher than 4 of 5 stars.
I acknowledge that my above complaint is solved by adding a Pro Organizer, but this is an additional cost to a product that is already priced higher than its alternatives.
I will post a separate review for the Pro Organizer. For this review of the Racquet Bag Pro, I will note that I find that they work well together. The Pro Organizer can be secured to the inside of the Racquet Bag Pro (in either large compartment) via a long, thin strip of velcro. The velcro is only on one side of the Pro Organizer, so you cannot choose the orientation of the organizer. I personally find the velcro works well enough for the Pro Organizer + Racquet Bag Pro system: secure enough while also being easy to slip in-and-out of the bag to get to your gear.
Lastly -- and this may be super obvious, but -- I will note that adding just one accessory (on one side of the bag) throws off the balance of the Racquet Bag Pro (especially for larger accessories like the Wet Dry Bag) so I felt forced to go double-or-nothing (ie, put two accessories on either side of the bag for balance, or use none) which ultimately limits the viable options.
As a pure tennis bag I don't really like the bag. It's just a sleeve with area for rackets and very little capability to carry anything else unless you buy add-on bags and stick them on and all that which I guess is one approach being modular, but frankly, even the strap on bag is kind of small I find the whole bag and additional bag just too small to carry more than one racket and balls and headbands and sweat bands, and all that kind of stuff, it just doesn't work for me.
I bought this bag and the full kit for my girlfriend in green. It’s gorgeous, and the organizer is really well laid out. The construction is really hardy and it has lots of thoughtful details. The zippers are heavy duty (which means a little harder to pull) to keep out the weather and seems they’ll last forever.
Love the bag for local play, suspect it will be a tad small for travel. It is designed nicely and the quality seems to be excellent. Only thought is that it would function better as a travel bag if it was a “4 Racquet” size so your shoes could fit inside the bag.
Awesome bag and customer service. I love these bags! They are the perfect size!
Despite the expensive customs fees and shipping costs to italy, I am more than happy with this purchase. The tennis bag is of outstanding quality, beautifully made, and looks absolutely perfect in every detail.
Without a doubt, this is the best and finest tennis bag I have ever owned. You can immediately feel the premium materials and craftsmanship. The wait and the extra costs were absolutely worth it.
I can highly recommend this bag to every tennis lover!
I've been utilizing Cancha products for several years. This bag does not disappoint. It's perfect for regular league play and weekend tournaments as it easily holds 2 or more rackets, plus "stuff" and then add an accessory for food/cloths. The external water bottle holder is a great feature. I recommend this bag.
The Pro Organizer in compact and fits perfectly inside my Voyager bag. The zippers are positioned so that I can easily access the contents of the 3 compartments. It's a must for keeping everything organized.
I'll be honest. I didn't know whether this bag would live up to the online ads and the cost. But I have to say, it's by far the best tennis bag I've ever had (and I've had many). I really do love the wet/dry bag. I'm not sure how I managed without it. And the voyager bag, along with the pro organizer, does everything you need. I'm still discovering pockets and experimenting with what goes where. This is a super flexible system. And the quality of the finish is worth the cost. So it's a splurge but it's worth it.
Beautiful and well made and I love the extra bags you can attach .
Nice addition to the Voyager. Very light and not bulky. Excellent zipper placement that allows for easy access to contents.
Lightweight and easily holds three racquets. Been getting a lot of compliments on my new bag! I would add some attachment points on the sides of the bag so I can add a carabiner or shoe harness - or some sort of hook so I can hang it on the fence. But I added two S-carabiners to the center grab handle to fix this. Very comfy - though as a petite woman I would have liked an option for slightly thinner straps but it’s not a major issue. Bag is great and another friend is looking to buy one for herself.
Voyager + Pro Organizer is a perfect combo. Everything I need fits perfectly. Well made and easy to carry. I'm so happy with this bag
This bag is well built and moves with me very well. I am happy with the purchase overall!
For some reason, I thought this tennis backpack would be above and beyond the usual that I have bought from companies like Wilson , yonex and techno fiber all of which were in $100 range. Given your backpack was $249. I expected something extra extraordinary and what I got was something no better than the ones I have always had in the past maybe even not as good.
Great; love the bag. It is much more compact and manageable than my old Wilson tennis bag.
This is such a great add on for the Voyager. Can easily fit clothes, shoes, ankle brace, hat etc. without over filling the compartments. My size 12 shoes fit easily in the shoe compartment and it still doesn't limit my size of the other compartments.
Great bag. It is perfect for 2-3 racquets even with the pro organizer packed with shoes and clothes. Quality shoulder straps is a plus! The only improvement I would recommend is to reduce the size of the logo patch. Though it's way smaller than the logos on the racquet brand bags, it doesn't match the styling of the Voyager.
Would definetly
